Interpol Tirana and judicial authorities in Albania have initiated the procedures for the extradition of Dritan Rexhep to Albania after he was arrested in Istanbul today.

The 43-year-old was arrested as part of cooperation between law enforcement authorities from several partner countries and Albania.

He was wanted internationally by Interpol Tirana for the crimes of β€œintentional murder”, β€œintentional grievous bodily harm” in collaboration and β€œillegal possession and manufacture of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition”.

In addition, Rexhepi was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Rome, Italy, for the crime of β€œcriminal association with the aim of drug trafficking” provided for in the Italian Penal Code.

Dritan Rexhepi, also known as the β€œAlbanian King of Cocaine,” was arrested in Turkey today as he entered Istanbul Airport through Istanbul Airport with a Colombian passport registered under the name β€œBenjamin Omar Perez Garcia.”

The most wanted Albanian gangster was caught in a luxury villa where anti-narcotics forces found money and jewelry during the operation.
