An Albanian has been arrested in Latin America where the Peruvian Police have handcuffed an Albanian wanted by the French authorities.
In cooperation with Interpol and after information received from the French authorities, Oltjon Belulaj, 34 years old, who had another last name, was arrested.
The head of Interpol Peru, Colonel JosΓ© Luis Quiroz, told local media that Belulaj was wanted in France for “importing narcotics for the criminal organization.”Β The operation to capture him came after information that Belulaj would come to Peru from Brazil, where he was recently, through the Latam line.
An arrest warrant was issued against him by the French authorities in 2022 and after a monitoring of his flight history, he was apprehended on Tuesday morning at Jorge ChΓ‘vez airport with the aim of extraditing him to France.Β It is learned that Belulaj did not provide information about his activities in Peru since he does not speak Spanish.
