Three British servicemen arrested in Rotterdam for drink, drugs

Three members of the British armed forces who were on shore leave in Rotterdam have been arrested after several incidents in the centre of the port city, the Dutch military police Koninklijke Marechaussee said on social media.

The incidents took place on Monday and Wednesday evening, the military police said. 

In the first two incidents, on Monday night, one of the British nationals had to be tasered by Dutch police to get him under control. He has been arrested and remains in custody on suspicion of attacking a police officer. 

The second man was arrested for being drunk in public and for having a small quantity of what is suspected to be hard drugs in his possession.

On Wednesday night a third British national was arrested for public drunkenness and failing to be able to show ID.Β
