Three people lost their lives when their car left the road and ended up in a canal in the early hours of Monday morning.
Emergency services called to Stadsring in Amersfoort around 1.30am freed the victims from the submerged car but all three had already drowned.
It is unclear what caused the accident and police are calling for witnesses to come forward. Next of kin have been informed but police has not yet released any information about the identity of the victims.
