After Wednesday’s post and yesterday’s remarks to the audience in Davos, the media closest to the Kremlin and patriotic propaganda have changed their tone toward Donald Trump, toward whom they had so far maintained a cautious, if not deferential, stance. The green light came from Dmitry Peskov, Vladimir Putin’s trusted spokesman, who stated that the Russian presidency is “meticulously recording” every word of the new White House tenant. “So far, we see no particularly new elements. During his first term, Trump was the American president who most frequently resorted to sanctions against us. It’s a method he has always liked. We remain ready for dialogue, but it must be equal and based on mutual respect.”
